Recipes: Gertrudeʼs Gomme

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. Rye Whiskey
  • 3/4 oz. Gertrude's Gomme
  • Peychaud Bitters to taste
  • Absinthe or Absinthe Substitute
  • Lemon Twist for garnish

Directions

Muddle Gomme Syrup and bitters, add ice and rye whiskey, then stir. Rinse glass with absinthe and discard. Strain whiskey mixture into a glass, then serve.

  • 2 oz. Rhum Clement VSOP Rum
  • 1/2 oz. Orange Curaçao
  • 1/2 oz. Adelaide's Orgeat
  • 1/4 oz. Gertrude's Gomme
  • 2 drops Orange Bitters
  • Crushed Ice
  • Lime Wedge

Directions

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the rum, Curaçao, Orgeat, Gomme, and bitters. Cover and shake well, then strain into a tiki glass mug. Pack the mug with crushed ice and garnish with a lime wedge, an umbrella and a straw.
